Friends and strangers alike always ask me what kind of skin care product I use to get the radiant and smooth skin. My first answer is: sleep.

Based on my experience, the secret to looking radiant…first and foremost is: sleep … I mean quality sleep, at least seven hours each night.

For me, to get that quality sleep, I hit the gym at night, getting rid of the stress from the day. When you are physically tired, it’s much easier for you to fall asleep.

If you find yourself tossing and turning, it could be because you’ve been sleeping in an uncomfortable bed, which could cause back pain and other problems in a long run. Get a new bed! Think about it, we spend half of our life in bed. It’s worth it to invest in a comfortable bed that’ll give you the rest you deserve night after night.

If you are late-night eater, refrain your cravings for food. My rule is no food after 9pm. Go to bed with a full stomach will give you nightmares… at least for me! And, your body stores the extra calories as fat. That means, get in the habit of ‘no cookies and milk in bed’.

Go to sleep with a clean face. When I say clean face, I mean not only a thoroughly cleansed face, but also one without too much night creams, toners, enhancers and such. I’m a firm believer of natural beauty and I believe in the body’s own ability to regenerate. No matter how late I come home, or how tired I am, thoroughly cleansing my face, followed by a light moisturizer has been the one step I almost never miss for the past twenty years.
